Integration Engineer

Purpose Design, develop, and maintain integrations between SuperPay’s billing systems, internal services, and external partners. Ensure integrations and payment transaction flows are reliable, secure, maintainable, and properly handled across success and failure scenarios. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain API-based integrations with external providers and internal systems. Implement and support payment transaction-processing flows, including validation, error handling, retries, and transaction-status management. Work with REST APIs, integration middleware, and existing application interfaces. Investigate and resolve integration failures, transaction discrepancies, and production issues. Implement appropriate logging and monitoring to support troubleshooting and operational visibility. Collaborate with Billing engineers, QA, business analysts, and external technical teams throughout delivery. Produce and maintain API specifications, integration documentation, and technical support notes. Contribute to integration testing, deployment preparation, and production support. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of relevant experience in billing systems, billing operations, or billing-system implementation. Strong programming experience in Java and/or another relevant backend language. Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and integrating systems across organizational or technical boundaries. Understanding of HTTP, JSON, authentication, error handling, timeouts, and retry strategies. Understanding of transaction integrity, idempotency, and safe handling of repeated or failed requests. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work with existing systems and investigate issues across multiple components. Preferred Qualifications Experience in fintech, billing, payment gateways, or transaction-processing systems. Experience with Java and Spring Boot. Familiarity with WSO2 or similar integration middleware. Experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL. Familiarity with reconciliation, transaction-status management, and integration monitoring.
