Role Description The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients, with a focus on evidence-based psychiatric care for adults and adolescents. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting psychiatric evaluations, developing and monitoring individualized treatment plans, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, and providing psychotherapy or counseling as appropriate. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure integrated care that aligns with Kanad Hospital’s values and clinical standards. The Psychiatrist will participate in case reviews, contribute to mental health education for staff and families, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and support quality improvement initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role based at Kanad Hospital in Al Ain. Qualifications Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to integrate medical and psychiatric knowledge in patient care. Demonstrated expertise in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and crisis intervention. Experience or training in Adolescent Psychiatry, with skill in managing the mental health needs of young people and their families. Recognized medical degree (MD or equivalent) and completed residency in Psychiatry; board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry preferred. Valid professional license to practice as a Psychiatrist, or eligibility to obtain licensure in the UAE. Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and to communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues. Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and alignment with Kanad Hospital’s mission and values. Experience in hospital or clinical settings, familiarity with JCI standards, and competency in electronic medical records are advantageous.
