Environmental Engineer

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer for an oil and gas EPC company. We are looking for a proactive and experienced Environmental Engineer to support environmental compliance and sustainability objectives across our Oil & Gas EPC projects. The successful candidate will have strong experience in environmental management systems, environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and implementation of environmental programs within ADNOC, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or EPC project environments. YOUR ROLE As an Environmental Engineer, you will have the below key responsibilities including but not limited to: Conduct environmental assessments, audits, inspections, and compliance evaluations across project sites and operations. Develop and implement waste management, pollution prevention, environmental monitoring, and sustainability programs. Ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation, client requirements, ADNOC standards, and company HSE procedures. Prepare environmental reports, studies, environmental impact assessments, and technical documentation. Develop, implement, and maintain Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). Conduct environmental monitoring activities and evaluate environmental performance against project targets. Lead environmental awareness programs, training sessions, toolbox talks, and campaigns. Conduct environmental audits and inspections to ensure continual compliance and improvement. Investigate environmental incidents, identify immediate and root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory authorities on environmental initiatives and compliance matters. Ensure effective management of waste, emissions, discharges, and other environmental aspects associated with EPC project activities. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Experience Minimum 4-6 years of professional experience in any industry. At least 3 years of experience managing and implementing environmental aspects in projects, operations, or production within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or EPC sectors. Previous experience on ADNOC projects will be an advantage. Familiarity with UAE environmental regulations and client-specific environmental requirements is preferred. Education and Certifications Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science. NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate. ISO 14001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification. Additional HSE certifications will be considered an advantage. Skills and Competencies Strong understanding of environmental issues, risks, and best practices within Oil & Gas and EPC operations. Sound knowledge of HSE Management Systems and environmental legislative requirements. Ability to develop and implement Environmental Management Plans. Experience conducting environmental monitoring, audits, inspections, and compliance assessments. Ability to investigate environmental incidents and perform root cause analysis. Ability to deliver environmental training and awareness sessions on environmental procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements. Strong knowledge of waste management, pollution prevention, sustainability initiatives, and environmental protection practices. Familiarity with ADNOC HSE requirements, Codes of Practice, and environmental compliance expectations. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
