Design Director

We are currently hiring for a visionary, strategic and experienced Director of Design to lead the architectural, master planning, and urban design execution across Qatari Dia's high impact real estate portfolio in Egypt. The Director of Design will be a design authority for large scale mixed use, residential, commercial, and hospitality developments. You will lead world-class external consultant, navigate complex master planning frameworks, and bridge creative conceptual vision with technical, sustainable, and commercially viable architectural execution. Candidate Profile: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline. Professional certification, such as PMP is highly preferred. 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in architectural design and master planning, with a proven track record leading design teams for reputed regional developers or consultancy/ contractors. Strong exposure to Egyptian real estate market, building codes, and municipal approval processes, combined with international design standards. Job Responsibilities: Design Vision & Architectural Leadership: Establishing and championing the overarching architectural, urban design, and master planning vision across QD Egypt developments from concept through execution. Preparing and recommending design section budget and monitoring financial performance. Recommending improvements to departmental procedures and direct implementation of instructions and controls. Consultant & Studio Direction: Leading, evaluating and managing international architectural firms, engineering consultants, landscape architects, and interior designers to ensure alignment with project briefs, luxury benchmarks, and QD standards. Value Creation & Feasibility: Balancing design elegance with commercial viability, construction budgets, value engineering, and market positioning in collaboration with Development and Finance teams. Stakeholder Engagement: Presenting design strategies, master plan update, and architectural concepts to C-suite executives, local government authorities, and municipal bodies for approvals and strategic alignment.
