About the Internship As a Natural Language Processing (NLP) Intern, you'll work on realistic NLP challenges involving text preprocessing, tokenization, embeddings, and language-model fine-tuning — building systems that classify, summarize, translate, and converse in natural language. You'll learn how NLP practitioners turn raw text into intelligent features and products — designing pipelines, evaluating language models, and handling the quirks of real-world language data. Responsibilities * Preprocess and clean text data (normalization, tokenization, stemming/lemmatization). * Build text-classification models for sentiment, intent, and topic detection. * Work with word and sentence embeddings (Word2Vec, BERT-style representations). * Experiment with transformer-based language models for generation and understanding. * Build and evaluate named entity recognition (NER) and part-of-strategy pipelines. * Fine-tune pre-trained language models on domain-specific datasets. * Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) prototypes over document collections. * Evaluate language models with proper metrics (accuracy, F1, BLEU/ROUGE where relevant). * Design prompts and evaluate prompt strategies for LLM tasks.
