Storekeeper

The Storekeeper makes sure the right spares, consumables and equipment are on board and accounted for and ready when needed. The role controls receipt, storage, issue and stock records for all vessel stores, so that operations for the client are never held up by missing materials. Responsibilities: Effectively control of all material in the storerooms. Responsible for the order, cleanliness, and housekeeping of the stores. Check if all items received conform to order. Carryout monthly inventory checks as per the vessels PMS system throughout the calendar year. Control quarantined, defective and expired items so they are not issued. Complete an annual 100% inventory count of all materials held onboard. Follow-up of Purchase orders and Purchase requests. Checks all invoices of equipment or job requests done by suppliers. Issue materials only against an authorised request, and record every issue in the stock system (e.g. maintenance/inventory system) Keep stock levels within minimum/maximum limits and raise requisitions when stock reaches reorder level. Report shortages is a timely manner to Chief Engineer/Chief Officer. Carry out regular cycle counts and support the full stock-take, reconciling and explaining any differences Track critical spares and certified equipment (lifting gear, PPE, safety equipment), including expiry and certificate dates Maintain accurate records for audits by the client, class and Telford QHSSE. QHSSE Responsibilities: Follow Telford's Safety Management System, client HSE requirements and all permit-to-work and lifting procedures Use correct manual-handling techniques and mechanical aids; never exceed safe working loads Take part in toolbox talks, drills and safety meetings, and use Stop Work Authority whenever needed. Report all incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions immediately. Keep stores areas free of trip, fire and pollution hazards, and handle waste per the recycling and environmental procedures.
