Head of Accounting

Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Global Head of Accounting to lead and oversee the organization's global accounting operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, driving process excellence, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements worldwide. The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership, finance teams, auditors, tax advisors, and key stakeholders to support the organization's continued growth and international expansion. Key Responsibilities Lead the global accounting function across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports. Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable local accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain strong financial controls, accounting policies, and governance frameworks. Manage and oversee intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and consolidation processes. Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies. Oversee treasury, cash management, and working capital processes in collaboration with finance leadership. Support mergers, acquisitions, entity setups, and international expansion initiatives. Drive automation, system improvements, and process optimization across the global finance function. Partner with FP&A, Tax, Legal, Compliance, and Executive Management on strategic initiatives. Monitor accounting developments and regulatory changes, ensuring ongoing compliance. Develop financial reporting capabilities and deliver insightful analysis to support decision-making. Build, mentor, and lead high-performing regional and global accounting teams. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification required (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent). Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant leadership responsibility within an international organization. Experience within financial services, fintech, brokerage, payments, technology, or multinational corporate environments. Proven experience managing multi-entity and multi-jurisdiction accounting operations. Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, consolidation, and corporate governance principles. Experience leading audits, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and financial control functions. Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting platforms. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
