Role Description The Senior Site Mechanical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt, responsible for overseeing mechanical works execution on construction and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day tasks include supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications, codes, and safety standards. The role involves coordinating with project managers, design teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines and quality benchmarks. The Senior Site Mechanical Engineer will review drawings, method statements, and material submittals, conduct inspections, and issue reports to document progress and compliance. The position also includes supporting value engineering efforts, identifying risks, and providing technical guidance to site teams to optimize mechanical performance and reliability. Qualifications Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with proven experience in site supervision of mechanical systems on medium to large-scale projects. Proficiency in Machine Design and application of mechanical components and systems in building and infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for reviewing, interpreting, and coordinating mechanical drawings and layouts. Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and stakeholder communication. Background in Research and Development (R&D) or technical problem-solving, with the ability to propose improvements and innovative solutions. Knowledge of relevant mechanical codes, standards, and safety regulations, preferably including ISO-related quality management practices. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. Ability to lead and mentor site teams, work collaboratively in multidisciplinary environments, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are an advantage. Experience in consultancy firms or engineering offices, particularly within the Egyptian or regional market, is highly beneficial.
