Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Our loyalty programme, GHA DISCOVERY, serves 36 million members worldwide. Our E-commerce Applications and Engineering team builds and runs the GHA DISCOVERY digital platform: our website ghadiscovery.com, our iOS and Android apps, and the APIs that power our brand channels. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to own quality for our website, content management system and APIs, and to build our test automation from the ground up. You will choose the tools, design the framework and set the standards. We use AI tools across our engineering team, and we expect you to bring them into how you test. What you will do Design and build our web and API test automation framework from scratch, including tool selection, structure, reporting and continuous integration Own testing for ghadiscovery.com, our content management system and our APIs Combine automated and manual testing, choosing the right approach for each release Use AI tools to speed up test design, test code, test data and results analysis Write test plans, test cases and test reports, and maintain traceability between requirements, tests and defects Lead user acceptance testing with business stakeholders before each release Assess release risk and give a clear go or no-go recommendation Log, track and drive defects to resolution in Jira Run cross-browser and cross-device testing, including mobile web Work closely with developers, product owners, marketing and third-party vendors Requirements: technical skills 4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including 2+ years writing and maintaining automated tests Proven experience setting up a test automation framework from scratch Hands-on experience with at least one web automation framework (Playwright, Selenium or equivalent) Working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or Java Regular, practical use of AI tools in your testing work, such as generating test cases, writing and refactoring test code, or analysing failures Strong documentation skills: test plans, test cases, traceability matrices and release reports Experience with API testing (Postman or similar) Experience in functional and non-functional testing Experience with Git and running automated tests in continuous integration pipelines Experience with Jira and Confluence Will be a plus Experience testing applications in the hospitality or travel domain, such as hotel booking engines or online travel agency platforms Experience testing loyalty, points or rewards systems Experience testing payment flows Experience with content management systems Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS Experience working in Agile and Scrum teams Requirements: soft skills Strong attention to detail Able to work independently and own your area end to end Confident making decisions and explaining the reasons behind them A get-the-job-done attitude and a willingness to help the wider team Able to manage several projects at once in a deadline-driven environment Show more Show less
