Director of Omnichannel & Retail Systems

We are looking for a senior technology leader to drive retail systems, digital commerce and omnichannel transformation for a leading international retailer in the Middle East. Reporting to the CIO, you will lead technology teams responsible for store systems, unified commerce and digital platforms, ensuring technology keeps pace with business growth and delivers a seamless customer experience across physical and online channels. Key Responsibilities Shape the regional technology roadmap for retail and digital commerce, aligning investment and delivery priorities with business objectives and global standards. Oversee store technology, including POS systems, payment solutions, retail applications and integrations with core enterprise platforms. Drive the evolution of unified commerce capabilities, including order management, inventory visibility, click-and-collect, ship-from-store and cross-channel customer journeys. Lead digital engineering across applications, APIs, cloud infrastructure, automation and platform reliability. Establish strong technology governance, service performance standards, risk controls and continuous improvement practices. Ensure regional solutions meet relevant payment, tax, fiscalisation and data protection requirements. Manage budgets, technology partners and strategic vendors while building a high-performing regional team. Collaborate with senior business leaders, digital product teams and global technology stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable solutions. What We're Looking For 15+ years of technology experience, including leadership roles within retail, digital commerce or omnichannel environments. A strong track record delivering technology across multi-site retail operations and complex transformation programmes. Expertise in POS ecosystems, SAP Retail, OMS and unified commerce; exposure to Fluent Commerce is an advantage. Good understanding of payment integrations, EFT, retail operations and Middle East regulatory requirements. Experience leading engineering teams across integrations, APIs, cloud and digital platforms. Commercial capability spanning budgets, business cases, vendor relationships and service agreements. Strong executive communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across regional and global teams. A relevant bachelor's degree; professional technology or delivery certifications are beneficial.
