Product Owner

Location: Onsite, Abu Dhabi, UAE Engagement: 12-month contract Level: Mid-level to Senior Eligibility: Currently based in the UAE with a valid residence visa About the role We are hiring a Product Owner for a high-visibility, AI-led product engagement with a marquee client in Abu Dhabi. This is not a backlog administration role. We need a product thinker who questions the brief, separates real problems from loud requests, and makes sharp, defensible calls on what to build, what to cut and why. AI is central to both the product and how this team operates. You should understand AI deeply enough to shape what is feasible and valuable, and use it daily to think, write and decide faster. What you will do Translate ambiguous business goals into a clear product vision, outcomes and measurable success metrics Own and prioritise the backlog based on value, risk and evidence, not volume of requests Write crisp epics, user stories and acceptance criteria that engineers and designers can act on without hand-holding Shape AI-powered features end to end: use case selection, data and model considerations, evaluation criteria, guardrails and human-in-the-loop design Challenge stakeholders constructively, push back on low-value scope and make trade-offs explicit Run Agile ceremonies with discipline while keeping the team focused on outcomes over output Partner with the UI/UX Designer and engineering leads on discovery, validation and iterative delivery Communicate progress, risks and decisions clearly to senior client stakeholders What you bring 5+ years in product ownership or product management for digital products, ideally including enterprise or platform products Demonstrated critical thinking: you can show decisions where you reframed the problem, said no to a senior stakeholder or changed direction based on data Strong structured problem solving and the ability to break complex domains into clear, sequenced deliverables Solid Agile and Scrum practice, with hands-on use of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps or Linear Comfort with data: defining KPIs, reading analytics and using evidence to prioritise Proven ability to operate in high-stakes, client-facing environments with senior audiences Excellent written and verbal communication in English AI proficiency (non-negotiable) We expect deep, practical fluency, not familiarity. You should be able to demonstrate: Building AI products: owned or substantially shaped at least one AI-powered product or feature (LLMs, RAG, copilots, agentic workflows or ML-driven decisioning) through to production or pilot Technical literacy: a working grasp of prompts, context, retrieval, evaluation, hallucination risk, latency and cost trade-offs, and responsible AI considerations Using AI in your craft: routine use of AI tools to accelerate research, PRDs, user stories, analysis and prototyping (e.g., ChatGPT or Claude, Cursor, v0, Lovable or similar) Judgement: knowing where AI genuinely adds value, where it does not, and how to prove it with the right evaluation metrics Good to have Experience in enterprise, regulated or large-scale transformation programmes Prior work in the UAE or wider GCC, with an understanding of regional stakeholders and ways of working Exposure to consulting or client-side delivery environments Product certifications (CSPO, PSPO, SAFe POPM) Arabic language skills How to stand out In your application, briefly describe (1) one product decision you made that went against the prevailing view, and how it played out, and (2) one AI feature you shaped, including how you measured whether it worked.
