Chief Investment Officer (Confidential) Location: Doha, Qatar The Opportunity We are conducting a confidential search for an exceptional Chief Investment Officer to lead the investment strategy, investment platform, product innovation, and capital markets activities of a rapidly growing investment business. This is not a traditional portfolio management role. The successful candidate will combine institutional investment expertise with commercial leadership, bringing the ability to design investment products, originate investment opportunities, raise institutional capital, and build scalable investment platforms serving sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, family offices and high-net-worth clients. The CIO will play a central role in shaping the firm's future investment strategy while partnering closely with Executive Management and the Board to drive long-term growth. Key Responsibilities Investment Strategy & Portfolio Leadership Develop and execute the firm's investment strategy across public and private markets. Lead strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction across multiple asset classes. Provide investment recommendations to Executive Management, Investment Committee and Board. Develop investment policies, governance frameworks and portfolio risk management processes. Monitor macroeconomic developments, capital markets and emerging investment opportunities globally. Investment Platform & Product Development Lead the development, structuring and launch of institutional investment products. Design and oversee: Listed investment funds Private investment funds Alternative investment funds SMAs Co-investment platforms Structured products Bespoke institutional mandates Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Operations, Finance and Distribution to successfully commercialize investment solutions. Develop differentiated investment propositions for institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurers, family offices and UHNW clients. Partner with distribution teams to support fundraising initiatives, investor presentations and product positioning. Investment Origination & Transaction Execution Lead the sourcing and execution of investment opportunities across multiple asset classes Oversee: Financial modelling Valuation Commercial analysis Due diligence Investment Committee papers Transaction structuring Negotiations Execution Coordinate external advisors including investment banks, legal counsel, consultants and placement agents. Institutional Capital & Commercial Leadership Develop long-term relationships with: Sovereign Wealth Funds Pension Funds Insurance Companies Family Offices Institutional Asset Managers Banks Development Finance Institutions Strategic Partners Support capital raising initiatives through strong institutional engagement. Represent the firm with investors, regulators and industry stakeholders. Identify strategic partnerships and new business opportunities that strengthen the investment platform. Leadership Build and lead a high-performing investment organization. Develop investment professionals across research, portfolio management, product development and investment execution. Promote a culture of disciplined investment decision-making, innovation, collaboration and commercial excellence. Serve as the principal investment adviser to Executive Management and the Board. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will demonstrate experience across most of the following areas: Investment Leadership Leading multi-asset investment strategies Strategic and tactical asset allocation Investment Committee leadership Portfolio construction Investment governance Risk management Listed Funds Demonstrated experience managing, overseeing or launching listed investment funds or publicly traded investment vehicles. Investment Product Development Hands-on experience designing, structuring and launching investment products including institutional funds, alternative investment vehicles, SMAs, structured products or bespoke client mandates. Asset Class Experience Strong experience across several of the following: Public Equities Fixed Income Private Equity Private Credit Infrastructure Real Estate Venture Capital Structured Products Hedge Funds Alternatives Multi-Asset Portfolios Breadth of experience across multiple asset classes is considered highly desirable. Sector Experience Experience investing across multiple sectors including, but not limited to: Financial Services Infrastructure Energy Industrials Technology Healthcare Consumer Real Estate Aviation Logistics Telecommunications Candidates with broad cross-sector investment experience will be preferred.
