About Us iCademy Middle East is a private, US-curriculum online school serving students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 across the Arabian Gulf region and neighboring countries. We are part of the Pansophic Learning group and have been based in Dubai since 2007. We successfully educate over 1400 students and have enrolled over 6000 students. Reports To: Hub Manager Job Type: Full-Time (In-person) Work Location: Silicon Oasis Hub Position Overview The English Learning Coach provides face-to-face academic support and guidance to Middle and High School students attending the iCademy Learning Hub in DSO. Working closely with students individually and in small groups, the Learning Coach supports their understanding, engagement, organization, and academic progress in English Language Arts (ELA) and English Language Learning (ELL/EAL). The role focuses on helping students access the curriculum, develop effective learning habits, and achieve academic success while promoting independence, accountability, and confidence. The Learning Coach works collaboratively with Teachers, Academic Advisors, Parents, and School Leadership to ensure students remain engaged and on track. The Learning Coach does not replace the classroom teacher and is not responsible for delivering the curriculum. Instead, the role provides targeted academic support, clarification, reinforcement of concepts, and structured guidance aligned to teacher expectations and learning objectives. Key Responsibilities 1. Student Support and Guidance · Provide face-to-face academic support to students individually and in small groups. · Support students in developing reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. · Reinforce teacher instruction and clarify concepts when required. · Guide students through assignments, projects, and assessment preparation. · Encourage students to seek support when needed and become confident, independent learners. 2. Progress Monitoring and Accountability · Monitor and record student attendance daily. · Track student engagement and assignment completion. · Identify students who may be falling behind and implement timely interventions. · Follow up with students regarding missing work and deadlines. · Support students in setting goals and taking ownership of their learning. · Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions. 3. Student Engagement and Motivation · Build positive relationships with students. · Encourage active participation in learning activities. · Promote attendance at live classes and school events. · Celebrate student achievements and progress. · Foster resilience, motivation, and a growth mindset. 4. Personalized Support · Differentiate support according to student needs. · Guide students towards appropriate resources and support strategies. · Assist students in overcoming learning barriers. · Collaborate with teachers and Academic Advisors regarding student support needs. 5. Organization and Learning Management · Assist students in managing their workload and deadlines. · Reinforce planning and time management strategies. · Help students establish productive learning routines. · Encourage increasing levels of student independence and accountability. 6. Communication and Collaboration · Communicate regularly with parents regarding attendance, engagement, and progress. · Participate in meetings with teachers and Academic Advisors. · Support the development and implementation of student learning plans where appropriate. · Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in support. 7. Professional Responsibilities · Adhere to iCademy policies and procedures. · Uphold academic integrity standards. · Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. · Participate in professional development activities including occasional after-school professional development sessions or meetings · Perform additional duties as assigned. Role Requirements · Bachelor’s Degree in English, English Language Arts, English Literature, Education with an English specialization or a related field · Valid teaching qualification recognized in the UAE · Minimum 3 years of experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or supporting students in English or English Language Arts at the middle school and high school level · Strong communication and interpersonal skills · Experience working with students individually and in small groups · Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, teachers, other colleagues and school leadership · Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive environment · Adaptability and problem-solving skills to support diverse learning needs · Strong organizational and time-management skills · Proficiency with educational learning platforms, technology-enhanced instruction and Microsoft Office applications · Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools · Commitment to student-centered learning and professional development Show more Show less
