Senior Electrical Engineer – UPDA Grade A / Solar PV

Role Purpose The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the technical delivery of electrical works across real estate development, facility management, and new solar PV projects. The role covers the full project lifecycle: feasibility, design, and pricing; daily site supervision; and testing, commissioning, and handover. It includes managing technical teams and subcontractors, quantity take-off, drawing review, load calculation and distribution, and resolving technical issues during execution. Key Responsibilities Manage the technical delivery of electrical works across real estate development, facility management, and solar PV projects, from site inspection and review of scope, drawings, and specifications through execution, commissioning, and handover. Prepare execution plans and define technical requirements. Supervise subcontractors and technical teams on site, allocate work, and monitor quality, cost, and progress against the project schedule, in coordination with management and other disciplines. Prepare and review electrical drawings, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), shop drawings, and as-built drawings. Perform load calculations and distribute loads across panels and circuits, and size cables, breakers, protection, and earthing systems. Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and site surveys. Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and verify executed quantities, variations, and technical content of payment applications. Support tendering and pricing and evaluate subcontractor and supplier offers. Review material submittals and method statements, resolve technical queries and clashes on site, and coordinate with clients, consultants, and authorities to obtain required approvals. Provide technical oversight of the operation, maintenance, and upgrading of electrical systems across the property portfolio. Analyze recurring faults, assess renovation and upgrade needs, and propose solutions to improve reliability and energy efficiency. Conduct feasibility studies for solar PV projects, including load assessment and energy yield estimation. Design and review PV system components, drawings, and quantities, and supervise installation and grid-connection requirements in line with KAHRAMAA regulations. Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of works. Close out snag items and complete final handover documentation and contribute to meeting the technical requirements for the company's qualification to execute solar PV projects. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a valid UPDA/MMUP Grade A registration. Over Ten years of total experience is preferred, including experience in Qatar. Strong hands-on experience in technical management of electrical projects on site, including execution supervision, quantity take-off, drawing review, load calculation and distribution, subcontractor management, and technical problem-solving. Documented experience on at least two solar PV projects within the past year, and eligibility to qualify as a Senior PV Engineer with KAHRAMAA. Priority will be given to candidates who have completed KAHRAMAA's training and passed its examinations. Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one solar design software such as PVsyst or HelioScope. Experience with ETAP and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is an advantage.
