PV Design Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior PV / BESS Design Engineer to support the engineering team in developing residential, commercial, or utility-scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will be responsible for creating electrical drawings, performing energy yield simulations, and preparing technical documentation for project approvals. Key Responsibilities: Drafting & Layouts: Create detailed AC/DC single-line diagrams (SLDs), structural layouts, and electrical schematics using AutoCAD. Energy Modeling: Perform solar energy yield assessments, shading analyses, and battery degradation modeling using PVsyst or Helioscope. System Sizing: Assist in sizing PV arrays, string configurations, inverters, and battery storage capacities under senior engineer guidance. Technical Documentation: Prepare bills of materials (BOM), equipment datasheets, and technical reports for procurement and permitting. Site Support: Review site survey data and assist the project management team with technical queries during installation and commissioning. Requirements & Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Experience: 1 to 2 years of proven experience in solar PV design (BESS experience is highly preferred). Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and PVsyst. Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical codes, standard equipment (modules, inverters, tier-1 batteries), and grid interconnection.
