Cost Control Team Lead

Key Accountabilities: Leading and managing the cost control team, allocating tasks and responsibilities based on project priorities and workload. Developing and maintaining cost control systems, budgets, and cash flow forecasts across projects. Reviewing and validating contract documents, BOQs, and payment terms to ensure alignment with project budgets. Monitoring project costs against approved budgets and flagging variances, risks, and cost overruns to management. Reviewing and processing contractor and subcontractor payment applications, interim payment certificates, and final accounts. Reviewing variation orders and claims, assessing their cost and contractual impact, and coordinating resolution with relevant stakeholders. Coordinating with procurement, planning, and project management teams to ensure cost data accuracy and consistency. Preparing periodic cost reports, forecasts, and dashboards for senior management. Ensuring compliance with contractual terms, company policies, and financial procedures across all cost control activities. Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to cost control team members. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in cost control, with strong contract management/administration background. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, variation orders, claims, and payment certification processes. Strong analytical and budgeting skills, with proficiency in Excel and cost control software.
