Master / Ship Captain – Unlimited CoC, LNG Dual-Fuel Container Vessel (STCW II/2)

Role Description This is a contract, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for a Master / Ship Captain – Unlimited CoC, LNG Dual-Fuel Container Vessel (STCW II/2). The Master is responsible for the safe navigation, operation, and overall management of an LNG dual-fuel container vessel, ensuring compliance with international and local maritime regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing voyages, overseeing bridge operations, managing the navigational watch, and ensuring accurate use of charts, publications, and navigational equipment. The role also involves supervising crew training and performance, maintaining vessel safety and security procedures, overseeing cargo operations, and coordinating with port authorities, clients, and shore-based management. The Master will promote a strong safety culture, manage emergency preparedness and drills, and provide professional customer service and representation of FORTE to stakeholders and partners. Qualifications Strong navigation competencies, including advanced Navigation skills and mastery of LNG dual-fuel vessel operations under STCW II/2. Comprehensive Boating and Boat handling skills, with proven experience as Master on container or similar large commercial vessels. Ability to deliver Training to deck crew and officers, including safety, emergency preparedness, and operational procedures. Customer Service mindset with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, port authorities, and internal stakeholders. Valid Unlimited Certificate of Competency (CoC) as Master (STCW II/2) and all required STCW safety and security endorsements. Extensive sea-time experience in command roles, preferably on LNG dual-fuel or other alternative-fuel vessels. Thorough knowledge of international maritime law, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and relevant flag and port state requirements. Demonstrated leadership, crew management, and decision-making skills in dynamic and high-pressure environments. Strong English communication skills; additional language abilities are an advantage.
