Role Purpose Deliver specialist planning studies focused on generation connections, GCC interconnection, renewable integration and system security, translating system-analysis findings into practical network recommendations. Key Responsibilities Conduct generation-connection and renewable-energy operational/planning studies, including assessment of suitable grid connection points. Study requirements for strengthening and connecting the Kuwait power system with the GCC Interconnection Grid. Review and evaluate operational and planning reports issued by the GCC Interconnection Authority and prepare technical comments. Support GCCIA workshops and prepare associated technical reports and observations. Study system balance under sudden loss of generation or load and assess operational issues affecting network stability. Assess renewable-energy forecasting, integration constraints, curtailment considerations and network investments required to accommodate additional renewable generation. Support seasonal, substation-connection and network-expansion studies as required. Candidate Profile Strong experience in power-system planning, generation/interconnection and renewable integration studies. Knowledge of interconnected transmission-system behaviour and system stability principles. Experience reviewing complex utility study reports and converting findings into actionable recommendations. Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline; postgraduate qualification desirable.
