Senior Urban Planner

Our clients turn to DC for a wide range of advice, skills and resources in developing, planning, engineering, supervising and managing projects About the role You will lead and deliver master plans and urban design schemes from concept through to Authority approval. The work ranges from new communities and mixed-use districts to regeneration and infrastructure-led developments.You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, landscape and transport specialists. Key responsibilities __________________________ Master planning and urban design Lead the preparation of master plans, from site analysis and concept options through to detailed master plans Develop land-use plans, density and massing studies, development parameters and phasing strategies Prepare urban design guidelines, plot development control regulations and design codes Integrate transport, utilities, open space, community facilities and public realm into coherent plans Regulations, approvals and sustainability Make sure designs comply with the Authorities' planning manuals, development codes and urban design standards Prepare and submit planning applications, and coordinate their review with the Authorities until they are approved Integrate Estidama (Pearl Community Rating System) requirements and sustainable planning principles into master plans Carry out community facility planning and calculate land budgets Client and project management Act as the main planning contact for clients. Present design options, recommendations and progress Plan and manage project scope, programme and deliverables. Make sure work is submitted on time and to quality standards Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs from architecture, infrastructure, transport, landscape and MEP team Education Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture or a related field. Master's degree in Urban Planning or Urban Design is preferred Membership of a recognized professional body (e.g. RTPI, APA / AICP, or similar) is an advantage Experience 10+ years of urban planning and master planning experience, including at least 5 years in the UAE / GCC Proven record of master plans approved by the Authorities in Abu Dhabi Experience with large-scale residential, mixed-use and community master plans Thorough knowledge of the Abu Dhabi planning regulations, urban design standards and Estidama PCRS Proficient in AutoCAD, GIS (ArcGIS / QGIS), SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office Strong graphic, report-writing and presentation skills Show more Show less
