Role Description The Optometrist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, determining prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses, and assessing ocular health. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing common vision and eye conditions, advising clients on appropriate lenses and frames, and collaborating with sales staff to ensure accurate fitting and adjustments. The Optometrist will educate clients on eye health, preventive care, and lens options, maintain accurate clinical records, and follow clinic protocols and regulatory standards. The role also involves supporting a high level of customer service for a multicultural clientele and contributing to a positive, efficient work environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong clinical skills in refraction, visual acuity testing, and comprehensive eye examinations. Candidates should possess skills in diagnosing and managing common ocular conditions, and determining appropriate prescriptions for lenses. Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain findings and treatment options clearly to diverse clients. Candidates should possess collaboration skills to work effectively with optical sales staff on frame selection, lens recommendations, and fitting. Candidates should possess record-keeping and organizational skills to maintain accurate patient files and follow clinic procedures. Relevant qualifications include a recognized degree in Optometry and eligibility to practice as an Optometrist in the United Arab Emirates. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in retail optical settings, fluency in English (Arabic or Urdu is a plus), and familiarity with modern lens technologies and optical equipment.
