Raban Al Safina Group Sumer Hills Managing Director (MD) Construction & Major Projects Sumer Hills, part of Raban Al Safina Group, is seeking a Managing Director to lead its construction and contracting business, with full executive responsibility for company strategy, financial performance, operations and organisational leadership. The role will oversee a substantial portfolio of independent, concurrent projects through the Director of Projects, project managers and functional heads, ensuring coordinated execution, commercial discipline and consistent delivery. Key Responsibilities Define and execute company strategy, business plans and financial targets, with accountability for P&L, sustainable growth and project profitability. Lead the senior management team, establish clear responsibilities and performance standards, and strengthen organisational capability. Direct the overall project portfolio, aligning engineering, procurement, construction, commercial and support functions with company priorities. Integrate operational, logistical and administrative planning across multiple sites, balancing competing priorities and allocating people, plant, materials and subcontractors effectively. Establish portfolio-wide governance for budgets, schedules, risk, quality, health, safety and environment; drive recovery plans for delayed or underperforming projects. Oversee tendering, contract negotiations, variations, claims, cash flow, working capital and payment recovery. Lead strategic client and partner relationships, business development and executive reporting. Provide executive oversight of architectural quality, including luxury fit-out, interior and exterior finishes and external façade systems, ensuring appropriate material specifications, supplier selection and specialist subcontractor performance. Requirements Proven executive leadership of a sizeable construction or contracting company, with company-wide accountability beyond individual project management. Demonstrated responsibility for P&L, commercial decisions, operational performance and organisational leadership. Direct experience delivering large-scale institutional buildings, particularly schools, hospitals and university buildings or campuses, alongside major construction programmes or building megaprojects. Strong multi-project leadership, prioritisation and decision-making skills, with the ability to oversee numerous independent projects simultaneously through project leadership teams. Sound technical understanding of civil, structural, architectural and building services interfaces. Demonstrated expertise in high-end finishing, luxury fit-out and façade systems, with strong judgment in material selection, vendor and subcontractor evaluation, and quality standards appropriate to luxury buildings. Preferred A relevant engineering or construction management degree; advanced business or project management qualifications and experience establishing portfolio controls.
