Bid Specialist

A Snapshot of Your Day To ensure business continuity and maintain sales momentum within the Sales Operations team of Siemens Energy Gas Services in the Middle East, the Bid Specialist will drive the end-to-end proposal preparation process. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality, competitive bids for distributed sales operations across the United Arab Emirates and the wider region. To address this business aim, this role focuses on bid management, commercial evaluation, and stakeholder collaboration. These core areas ensure that proposals are technically viable, commercially sound, and fully aligned with Siemens Energy's risk and compliance frameworks. Given the focus on bid management and commercial evaluation, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in proposal analysis within the energy or engineering sector, paired with strong analytical and communication skills. A background in handling complex tenders in the Middle East market is highly preferred. How You’ll Make An Impact Lead the end-to-end bid preparation process, coordinating technical, commercial, and legal inputs to deliver high-quality proposals. Analyze tender requirements, customer specifications, and scope of work to define the optimal bidding strategy. Establish and monitor bid schedules, ensuring all milestones are met and submissions are delivered on time. Perform cost calculations, pricing analysis, and margin evaluations to ensure competitive and profitable bidding. Identify potential commercial and contractual risks, proposing mitigation strategies in alignment with corporate policies. Coordinate with internal legal, tax, and finance departments to validate bid compliance and financial terms. Facilitate key alignment meetings and bid approval reviews (Limits of Authority processes) with regional sales leadership. Maintain accurate records of bid statuses, win/loss analyses, and market intelligence within the CRM system. Foster strong relationships with internal partners and external customers to clarify bid requirements and resolve queries. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in bid management, proposal analysis, or commercial sales operations, preferably within the energy, power generation, or industrial sectors in the Middle East. Expertise in proposal writing and structuring, tender analysis and compliance, and bid management methodologies. Skilled in cost estimation and pricing strategies, risk identification and mitigation, and contractual terms and conditions analysis. Strong skills in stakeholder management and collaboration, project management and scheduling, and CRM and sales operations systems.
