ERP Software Architect – Laravel / MySQL (Hands-on)

About Matajer AI Matajer AI is a private-sector technology company in Ajman, UAE. We build a multi-tenant ERP and commerce operations platform (Laravel / MySQL) that runs inventory, catalog, pricing, orders and finance for multiple companies. The role You will own the architecture of our ERP and work directly with the founder. This is a hands-on role: you design the data model, write core backend code, and keep the system reliable as it grows. It is not a CRUD-only, frontend-only or purely managerial role. What you will do • Design and evolve the MySQL database schema for a multi-company / multi-tenant ERP • Define module boundaries and system logic (inventory, orders, pricing, accounting flows) • Build and review core Laravel code: services, jobs, queues, events and APIs • Design integrations (REST, webhooks, marketplaces, payment and shipping) that are idempotent and safe to retry • Own data integrity: transactions, concurrency, migrations, backward compatibility and rollback • Set engineering standards: Git and pull-request reviews, automated tests, CI/CD • Explain technical trade-offs clearly to a non-technical founder Must-have • Strong relational database design and advanced SQL (indexes, query optimisation, transactions) • Solid PHP / Laravel backend experience on a non-trivial production system • System design skills: modular architecture, queues/Redis, event-driven processing • API and third-party integration experience • Legally able to work in the UAE (visa can be provided) and able to work on-site in Ajman, 6 days per week Preferred • 5+ years in backend engineering (we value depth of skill over years of experience) • ERP, CRM or e-commerce domain experience (inventory, orders, finance) • Multi-tenant SaaS, role-based access control and data isolation • Vue.js and AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot) What we offer • Salary: AED 5,000 – 7,000 per month, depending on skills and experience • UAE visa and work permit provided as part of the employment contract • Housing allowance • Transport allowance • Annual leave • Working schedule: 6 days per week, on-site at our Ajman office • Direct ownership of, and impact on, the core platform How to apply Apply with your CV and answer the screening questions.
