MMMP Traffic Controller

Responsibilities: Assists in analyzing the data displayed and controls and acts according to the directions of MMMP OCC Manager. Operates and monitors centralized traffic control systems to co-ordinate and follow railway traffic. Charts rail movement calculates arrival and departure times and records rail traffic movements. Issues instructions to control the movement of passenger and freight train traffic and on-track mobile maintenance equipment. Receives, records and relays train instructions to train crew by hand to radio telephone. Assists in planning train schedules in MMMP stations to ensure there is no conflict. Ensure cost-effective movement of trains and other on-track equipment to optimize physical and human resources. Acts quickly according to the established protocols in case of any emergencies. Tests, operates, and maintains railway signaling equipment such as power switches and grade crossing warning devices. Qualifications: Technical diploma in a related discipline or equivalent.
