Part-Time Engineering teacher

About Manara School Manara School started its first year of operation in the Fall of 2023, with its inaugural class of 2028. The school is expected to grow to 500 students. As a co-educational residential school, with a mission to provide exceptional students with a world-class education based on ethics, academics, and diversity, Manara continues to build its organizational systems and infrastructure. Manara School is seeking a teacher for Introduction to Engineering Design, a high school course, for the remainder of the 2026-27 school year. Students in this course learn how to use different approaches to problem-solving such as systems thinking and design thinking in order to apply science and technology to real-world situations. Through both individual and collaborative team activities, projects, and problems, students consider various aspects of engineering design (including ethics, human-centered design, manufacturability, and sustainability), they develop skills in technical representation and documentation, and they produce and test prototypes. Reporting to: Dean of Academics Job Responsibilities: Teach 1 course section (3 classroom hours/week) with responsibility for 11 students. Establish clear learning objectives appropriate for the course. Prepare and lead interactive, project-based lessons. Design and administer appropriate assessments. Submit reports and grades according to the school calendar. Differentiate for different language and skill levels. Adhere to all Manara School employee and academic policies. Educational qualifications (at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree), or other evidence of deep knowledge in their subject area The ability to commute to Manara School (candidates must live the Hurghada/El Gouna area and have access to transportation) Experience engaging teenagers and helping them find their way through adolescence and young adulthood Familiarity with engaging and age-appropriate pedagogical strategies, including differentiation, student-directed inquiry, and experiential learning, or a willingness to learn Patience, kindness, and a collaborative work style Fluency in English Show more Show less
