Assistant Treasurer – Forex

Our client, a multinational company is looking for an Assistant Treasurer – Forex to support the effective management of foreign currency exposure and treasury operations. The role is responsible for coordinating daily forex transactions, monitoring hedging activities and forward contracts, reconciling forex positions, analyzing exchange gains and losses, and ensuring accurate and timely settlement of foreign currency transactions. The position works closely with Treasury, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, IT, and other business departments to identify foreign currency requirements, manage FX-related risks, and improve treasury processes. Key Responsibilities Forex Management Act as the first point of contact for forex-related matters and treasury management queries. Monitor daily forex orders and coordinate with treasury stakeholders regarding anomalies or issues. Raise spot orders for non-systematic and ad hoc hedging requirements related to supplier payments and customer receipts in foreign currencies. Perform monthly reconciliation of open forex portfolios against open forex contracts. Investigate and justify open forex order balances, variances, and ageing items through coordination with relevant departments. Update actual exchange rates in designated tracking files to ensure timely communication with Accounting teams. Monitor settlement of contracts related to supplier payments and customer receipts. Review and analyze monthly foreign exchange gains and losses and identify discrepancies, incorrect rates, or system-calculation issues. Calculate forex rates used for pricing activities based on market forecasts and inventory-related currency rates. Prepare forex payoff analyses to support decisions on forward contract durations and modifications. Assess short-term and long-term foreign currency requirements in collaboration with business departments. Continuously evaluate treasury processes, payment terms, settlement timelines, and currency exposures. Identify process loopholes, treasury risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities from transaction initiation through settlement. Recommend corrective actions to Treasury and Finance Management. Support implementation of new business flows and treasury process requirements. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for treasury-related ERP developments. Collaborate with IT teams to enhance treasury workflows, reporting, and system functionality. Treasury Operations & Cash Management Communicate bank statements and banking advice documentation to Accounting teams. Support treasury forecasting and cash flow planning activities. Assist with petty cash management. Monitor banking conditions, fees, and charges. Track treasury KPIs and ensure compliance with treasury policies and requirements. Monitor bank balances and support cash pooling activities. Manage treasury current account activities with the parent company/group. Prepare monthly treasury KPI reports and review templates. Perform monthly reconciliations of treasury current accounts and related interest calculations. Support ad hoc treasury-related assignments and projects. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in Treasury, Forex, Cash Management, or Finance. Good knowledge of: Foreign Exchange (FX) Spot Transactions Forward Contracts Hedging Treasury Operations Cash Forecasting Treasury Reconciliations Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems is an advantage. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Good communication and coordination skills.
