Shipping and Clearance Manager

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Clearance Manager to oversee and manage all shipping, import/export, customs clearance, and logistics operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of shipments, compliance with customs regulations, cost optimization, and smooth coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders, and relevant authorities. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end international shipping, import/export, and customs clearance operations. Oversee sea, air, and land freight activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government authorities. Ensure compliance with Egyptian customs regulations, import/export laws, and international trade requirements. Manage shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and customs declarations. Monitor shipments, resolve clearance delays, and handle logistics-related issues. Negotiate freight rates, clearance fees, and transportation costs with service providers. Oversee NAFEZA and ACID procedures and ensure accurate documentation. Develop and implement strategies to optimize shipping costs and improve operational efficiency. Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Warehousing, and Supply Chain teams. Lead and supervise the shipping and customs clearance team. Prepare logistics reports and monitor KPIs related to shipping costs, delivery performance, and clearance lead times. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: 8–12 years of experience in shipping, logistics, and customs clearance, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. Strong knowledge of Egyptian customs regulations and international shipping procedures. Hands-on experience with NAFEZA, ACID, and ACI systems. Solid understanding of Incoterms, HS Codes, and import/export documentation. Experience working with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office. English: Very good command of written and spoken English. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly preferred. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) On-time shipment delivery rate. Customs clearance lead time.
