Critical Care Medicine Consultant (Al Dhafra Region)

Job Summary SEHA is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in Critical Care Medicine to join its clinical team in the Al Dhafra Region. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients, manage complex and high-acuity cases, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities Provide consultant-level assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of critically ill patients. Manage complex ICU cases including sepsis, septic shock, respiratory failure, ARDS, multi-organ dysfunction, and other life-threatening conditions. Provide advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation. Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation and weaning strategies. Provide advanced hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular support. Manage patients requiring renal replacement therapy and other forms of organ support. Lead resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill and deteriorating patients. Perform and supervise critical care procedures within the approved clinical scope of practice. Provide consultant-level clinical decision-making and escalation of care. Participate in ICU rounds and multidisciplinary discussions with Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Nursing, and other specialties. Ensure appropriate communication with patients and families regarding treatment plans and prognosis. Support clinical governance, quality improvement, infection prevention, morbidity and mortality reviews, and patient-safety initiatives. Provide supervision, teaching, and clinical guidance to junior physicians and other healthcare professionals. Participate in on-call and critical care coverage as required by the facility. Medical degree such as MBBS, MD or equivalent from a recognized institution. Recognized postgraduate specialty qualification in Critical Care Medicine / Intensive Care Medicine, or an approved specialty pathway leading to Critical Care Medicine. Must meet the applicable requirements for a Tier 1 Consultant in Critical Care Medicine. Demonstrated experience managing high-acuity and complex ICU patients. Strong experience in mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic management, organ support, and critical care emergencies. Consultant-level clinical leadership and multidisciplinary team experience is preferred. Licensing Requirements Valid DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant license in Critical Care Medicine or eligibility to obtain the appropriate DOH Consultant license. Candidate's qualification and experience must support the required Tier 1 Consultant classification. Credentials must meet the applicable DOH professional qualification and licensing requirements.
