Role Description The Accountant role at Zahran Market is a part-time, hybrid position based in Damanhur, with flexibility for some work-from-home tasks. The role includes preparing and recording journal entries, reconciling bank and ledger accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The Accountant will review invoices, process payments, and ensure accurate recording of expenses and revenues in compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards. Responsibilities also include assisting with budgeting and forecasting, monitoring cash flows, and preparing periodic financial reports for management. The role involves collaborating with store operations and central finance teams to resolve discrepancies, improve financial controls, and support audits and financial reviews. Qualifications Solid foundation in financial accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of basic financial statements. Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel (e.g., spreadsheets, pivot tables, basic financial analysis). Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cost control principles, ideally in a retail or FMCG environment. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with operations, finance, and management stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work independently in a hybrid setup. Bachelor’s degree (or current enrollment) in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Previous experience or internship in accounting, bookkeeping, or retail finance is preferred but not required.
