Cloud Architect

Role Description We are seeking a technically advanced and strategic Cloud Architect to design, develop, and oversee secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions. This role involves evaluating business and technical requirements, establishing cloud architecture standards, and guiding the implementation of cloud-based platforms that support application development, data management, and enterprise operations. The successful candidate will work closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity specialists, and business stakeholders to develop cloud strategies that improve system performance, operational efficiency, and technology scalability. The position requires strong architectural knowledge, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and develop cloud architecture solutions that support business applications, enterprise systems, and digital transformation initiatives. Evaluate cloud infrastructure requirements and recommend suitable services, platforms, deployment models, and technical configurations. Develop scalable and resilient cloud environments using platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Establish cloud architecture principles, technical standards, governance frameworks, and infrastructure design guidelines. Design cloud networking, storage, computing, database, backup, and disaster recovery solutions. Ensure cloud environments follow security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, network protection, and data security controls. Assess existing IT infrastructure and develop migration strategies for moving applications, databases, and workloads to cloud environments. Collaborate with development and engineering teams to support cloud-native applications, microservices, containerization, and API integrations. Review system architecture, technical designs, and infrastructure configurations to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability. Implement cloud monitoring, resource optimization, and cost management strategies to maintain efficient cloud operations. Support the adoption of DevOps practices, automation tools, infrastructure as code, and continuous integration and deployment workflows. Identify potential technical risks, infrastructure limitations, and security vulnerabilities, recommending appropriate improvements. Prepare architecture diagrams, technical documentation, cloud deployment guidelines, and solution design proposals. Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and stakeholders throughout cloud implementation and optimization projects. Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions that improve system capabilities and long-term infrastructure efficiency. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a related technical discipline is preferred. Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, enterprise architecture, distributed systems, and infrastructure design. Familiarity with major cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Knowledge of cloud networking, virtualization, storage solutions, databases, server infrastructure, and application hosting environments. Understanding of cloud security principles, identity management, encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements. Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as microservices architecture. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies is an advantage. Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and cloud resource management. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess complex technical requirements and design effective solutions. Ability to evaluate infrastructure costs, performance requirements, system availability, and scalability considerations. Excellent technical documentation, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate with software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business teams. Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect are advantageous but not mandatory.
