Group Performance Data & Systems Manager - Contracting & Construction

Job Summary The Group Performance Data & Systems Manager leads the design, delivery and governance of performance information across the Contracting & Construction sector. Reporting to the Group Chief Integration & Performance Officer, the role establishes the reporting architecture, data standards and systems adoption that provide a single source of truth for strategic, operational, financial, commercial and project performance. The role connects source data in SAP and related platforms with consolidated reporting and management dashboards, working with operations, project controls, commercial, finance, procurement, HSE, quality, people functions and IT. It ensures that measures are consistently defined, data is owned and accurate, and reporting is timely, trusted and drawn from system data rather than manual workarounds. The Group Performance Data & Systems Manager also drives SAP adoption and data discipline with Operations, governs dashboard development and change, and provides the data foundations for governance forums, performance interventions and future analytics and AI initiatives across the Group. Job Responsibilities 1. Reporting Architecture Design and maintain the Group reporting architecture, defining audiences, content, frequency and source systems for consolidated financial and operational reporting. 2. KPI Dictionary and Definitions Develop and govern the Group KPI dictionary so that every measure has an agreed definition, calculation, owner, source and reporting frequency. 3. Single Source of Truth Implement and govern a single source of truth for strategic, operational, financial, commercial and project performance information. 4. Data Ownership and Stewardship Establish the data ownership model and work with functional data owners to resolve data gaps, conflicts and quality issues. 5. Consolidated Performance Reporting Deliver the Group consolidated monthly performance report and the data inputs to Group ExCom, BU ExCom and project review forums. 6. Dashboard Development and Governance Direct the development of management and operational dashboards and govern requests, prioritisation, build standards and change control. 7. SAP Adoption and Usage Drive SAP adoption with Operations, monitor usage by business unit and close gaps where work is performed outside the system. 8. Data Quality and Master Data Discipline Set data quality standards, monitor master and transactional data quality, and report performance against data quality measures. 9. Reporting Calendar and Cut-off Discipline Establish and manage the Group reporting calendar, cut-offs and consolidation timelines with Finance and business units. 10. Rationalisation of Manual Reporting Identify duplicated and spreadsheet-based reporting and retire it as system-based reporting becomes available. 11. Systems Integration Roadmap Maintain the systems integration map and contribute to the roadmap for integrating SAP with project controls and other platforms. 12. User Capability and Super-User Network Coordinate training and a super-user network that sustain system adoption and reporting capability across business units. 13. Analytics and AI Data Readiness Prepare the data foundations that enable automation, analytics and leading-indicator models in support of the Group AI agenda. Job Knowledge and Skills 1. Performance Reporting and Business Intelligence Advanced understanding of reporting architecture, KPI design, data modelling and dashboard development for executive and operational audiences. 2. ERP and SAP Systems Strong working knowledge of SAP or a comparable ERP in project-based organisations, including finance, project systems, procurement and master data. 3. Contracting & Construction Data Understanding of how project controls, commercial, finance, procurement and HSE data are generated and used in construction delivery. 4. Data Governance and Quality Ability to establish data ownership, standards and quality controls, and to resolve data issues across multiple functions and systems. 5. Influence and Delivery Through Others Ability to influence functional leaders, IT and business units without direct authority and to deliver change through cross-functional teams. Job Experience Performance Reporting and Systems: 12+ years of relevant experience Progressive experience in performance reporting, business intelligence, ERP implementation or project controls within contracting, EPC, infrastructure or construction organisations. Management Experience: 5+ years in a management role Demonstrated accountability for reporting, systems or data deliverables across multiple business units or functions. SAP and ERP Adoption: Proven experience Record of driving ERP adoption, usage and data discipline in operational, project-based environments. Consolidated Reporting and Dashboards: Proven experience Delivery of consolidated reporting and management dashboards that replaced manual or fragmented reporting. Executive Reporting: Proven experience Preparing accurate, timely performance information for executive and board-level forums under tight deadlines.
