About the firm Mazghouny & Co is a leading boutique law firm based in Cairo, advising international and domestic clients on complex, high-value transactions across energy, projects and infrastructure, project finance, and corporate/M&A. Since our establishment in 2020, we have advised on some of Egypt’s most significant energy and infrastructure projects, with particular expertise in renewable energy, battery storage, green hydrogen, infrastructure development and strategic investments. Combining international standards with deep local expertise, we work at the intersection of law, finance and industry, helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments and deliver major projects and transactions. The role We are looking for a talented and ambitious Associate with 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience to join our growing practice. The successful candidate will work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with substantial involvement in project development, financing and corporate matters. The role offers early responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with experienced lawyers on complex, high-profile transactions. Key responsibilities Advising on project development, financing, corporate and commercial transactions. Drafting and reviewing project agreements, financing documents and commercial contracts. Providing legal and regulatory advice on complex transactional matters. Conducting legal research, due diligence and analysis, and delivering clear, commercially focused advice. Working closely with clients, counterparties and international counsel throughout the transaction lifecycle. Experience and qualifications 2–3 years’ post-qualification experience at a leading law firm, preferably within a transactional practice. Relevant experience in one or more of the following: energy, infrastructure, project finance, banking or corporate/M&A. Excellent legal drafting, research and analytical skills, with a strong command of English and Arabic. French is an advantage. Sound commercial judgement, intellectual curiosity and the ability to analyse complex legal issues with clarity and precision. Strong attention to detail, initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take ownership of work, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a collaborative team.
