Senior Planning Engineer (Ras Elhikma)

Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed baseline and updated project schedules using Primavera P6. Review contractors’ baseline programs, recovery plans, revised schedules, and progress updates. Monitor actual progress against planned progress and identify schedule variances and potential delays. Perform Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis and monitor critical and near-critical activities. Review activity sequencing, durations, logic links, calendars, constraints, and resource loading. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S-curves, and look-ahead schedules. Conduct earned value analysis, including SPI and schedule performance monitoring where applicable. Assess schedule impacts resulting from design changes, variations, site constraints, and other project events. Support the evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis. Review contractors’ mitigation and recovery plans and provide recommendations to the Project Manager. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, QS/commercial teams, contractors, and other stakeholders. Participate in progress meetings and highlight key scheduling risks, delays, and corrective actions. Maintain accurate progress records and provide management with reliable project forecasts. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline. Typically 8–12+ years of relevant experience, preferably within construction, engineering consultancy, or PMC environments. Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6. Good knowledge of CPM scheduling, progress measurement, resource/cost loading, delay analysis, and EOT assessment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is an advantage. Experience working on major buildings, infrastructure, mixed-use, hospitality, or mega-projects is preferred. Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills. Good written and spoken English. Preferred Qualifications Previous PMC / consultant-side experience. Experience reviewing contractors’ schedules rather than only preparing schedules for a contractor.
