Division Director - Waterproofing

Job Title: Division Director – Waterproofing Division: Waterproofing Location: UAE Reports To: CEO JOB PURPOSE To lead, manage and strategically grow the Waterproofing Division across the UAE, ensuring the profitable delivery of high-performance waterproofing solutions, compliance with applicable international standards and local regulations, and continuous improvement in material application and project execution. NATURE OF WORK  Strategic planning and profit and loss management for the Waterproofing Division.  Oversight of waterproofing projects throughout their lifecycle, from tendering to handover.  Leadership of technical excellence, quality, compliance and team development in specialised waterproofing applications. KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Strategic Planning and Business Development Develop and execute the division’s annual strategic plan, identifying market opportunities, competitor activity and growth initiatives within the UAE construction sector. Build and maintain key client relationships and secure high-value projects, including critical infrastructure and major development works such as tunnels and basements. 2. Financial Management and P&L Oversight Manage the division’s profit and loss, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and revenue generation. Review financial performance, implement corrective actions to achieve approved profitability targets and optimise resource allocation to maximise returns. 3. Technical Excellence and QA/QC Establish and enforce quality assurance and quality control procedures for waterproofing systems, including liquidapplied membranes, sheet membranes, cementitious coatings, bentonite and crystalline systems. Ensure compliance with project specifications, manufacturer guidelines and applicable international standards, including relevant ASTM and DIN requirements. Oversee inspection, testing, leak detection and repair methodologies to ensure durable system performance. 4. Project Execution and Delivery Provide executive oversight of all waterproofing projects to ensure delivery within approved schedules, budgets and quality requirements. Review method statements for complex applications, including inverted roofs, podiums, wet areas and swimming pools. Ensure appropriate substrate preparation, material compatibility and application techniques. Resolve major technical challenges, resource constraints and project escalations. 5. Team Leadership and Development Recruit, mentor and manage a high-performing team of Project Managers, Site Engineers and skilled applicators in coordination with HR. Establish training programmes covering advanced waterproofing techniques, safety procedures and material innovations. Ensure personnel hold the competencies and certifications required for their assignments. Ensure drivers operating company vehicles possess valid UAE driving licences and meet applicable project and transport requirements. 6. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure divisional operations comply with applicable UAE federal and local requirements, including those of Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Civil Defence and RTA where relevant, together with environmental requirements and company policies. Identify and mitigate project and operational risks, particularly those relating to material suitability, application defects, warranty liabilities and long-term waterproofing performance. 7. Supply Chain and Vendor Management Manage relationships with waterproofing material suppliers and manufacturers to secure competitive pricing, reliable delivery and consistent material quality. Coordinate procurement requirements with the relevant teams and assess supplier performance. Evaluate new materials, technologies and sustainable waterproofing solutions for suitability, lifecycle performance and commercial value. 8. Innovation and Technology Adoption Promote the adoption of suitable waterproofing technologies, digital project management tools and advanced inspection techniques, including electronic leak detection and thermal imaging. Drive continuous improvement in application efficiency, material utilisation, inspection effectiveness and system longevity. AUTHORITIES Exercise the following authorities within the company’s approved delegation of authority, budgets and policies:  Approve project bids and contracts within delegated limits.  Recommend and approve staffing actions within delegated authority, in consultation with HR and subject to required approvals.  Allocate financial, human and material resources within approved divisional budgets.  Approve technical recommendations for waterproofing systems and application methodologies, subject to project specifications and required consultant or client approvals Show more Show less
