Intern - Architect

JOB PURPOSE The intern position will plan and design MAGRABi stores and offices projects to ensure functional, visually appealing, and customer-centric retail spaces with specific considerations for MAGRABi vision, brand identity, and the unique needs of optical retail services to maximize operational efficiencies. Qualifications and Education: ▪ Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, design, or relevant field. ▪ Retail designing experience is a plus. ▪ Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. ▪ Proficiency in CAD and AutoCAD software and sketch up and 3D max and Microsoft Office. Experience ▪ 0-1 years of experience in architecture. ▪ Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ▪ Assist in developing design concepts for optical retail spaces and MAGRABi offices, considering customer flow, product display and branding. ▪ Support architectural projects through design, construction documents, permitting, bidding and construction administration, under the guidance of the Retail Design Lead. ▪ Help check designs against building codes, regulations and accessibility standards, including specific requirements for optical facilities. ▪ Research engineering practices, stakeholder disciplines, application methods and materials to build technical knowledge. ▪ Prepare eyewear display solutions such as wall-mounted racks, display cases, shelving and demonstration areas, supporting value engineering to keep designs within budget. ▪ Coordinate with interior designers, engineers and contractors to integrate flooring, finishes, signage and technology infrastructure into retail and office spaces. ▪ Assist in quality control inspections to confirm the built space meets design specifications and standards. ▪ Support communication with mall and landlord fit-out teams, contractors and vendors on assigned projects, following up on issues to keep delivery on time Show more Show less
