Consultant Internal Medicine

Military Medical City Hospital (MMCH) is seeking an experienced Consultant in Internal Medicine to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult patients across inpatient and outpatient services. The Consultant will manage patients with a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions, including complex and multi-system cases, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and subspecialty teams. The role also includes clinical leadership, supervision of junior physicians, and contribution to quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Manage inpatient medical cases, outpatient clinics, and medical consultations/referrals from other specialties. Participate in the management of complex patients with multiple comorbidities and coordinate care with relevant subspecialties. Participate in the department’s on-call and clinical coverage roster as required. Provide timely consultation and support to other clinical departments. Lead and participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding complex patient management. Supervise and provide clinical guidance to specialists, general practitioners, and other junior medical staff. Ensure accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation. Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols, pathways, and standards of care. Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement, patient safety, morbidity and mortality reviews, and other clinical governance activities. Support departmental service development and contribute to improving clinical efficiency and patient outcomes. Participate in continuing medical education and departmental educational activities. Maintain professional standards and comply with MMCH policies, clinical governance requirements, and applicable Qatar healthcare regulations. Qualifications & Experience Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution. Recognized postgraduate specialty qualification/board certification in Internal Medicine.. Appropriate post-specialty clinical experience in Internal Medicine in accordance with DHP requirements. Strong experience managing a broad spectrum of adult medical conditions, including complex and multi-system cases. Experience within a governmental, semi-governmental, tertiary, academic, or teaching hospital is highly preferred. Current and recent hands-on clinical practice in Internal Medicine. Experience supervising or mentoring junior physicians is preferred. Required Competencies Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
