Customs Specialist

A Snapshot of Your Day To strengthen our customs team in Siemens Energy we are looking for a dedicated and experienced candidate to perform customs classification, origin management (preferential/non - preferential), as well as for the customs clearances of goods under different customs procedures in Egypt and other countries in MEA Region. How You’ll Make An Impact Operate import and export customs clearance in cooperation with internal and external partners, by using the relevant ERP/SAP/trade solution processes. Analyze and classify goods in accordance with customs regulations and consider the technical characteristics required for the classification process. Analyze trade documents required for customs clearance and related processes for suppliers, associations, and other relevant market participants. Calculate and determine the country of origin (preferential and non - preferential). Broker Management: Instruct, control, and monitor brokerage activities. Approve and coordinate payment transactions related to customs duties and brokers. Post clearance audits What You Bring Qualification (diploma/certificate) in the fields of customs/economics, foreign trade law or comparable with 3 - 5 years of experience in the field of customs and have a high level of professional knowledge, process - wise but also regarding customs and foreign trade regulations and logistics Understanding of INCO terms and have the capability to translate legal requirements into processes and systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to ensure clear communication within the organization as well as towards local customs authorities. First international experience (working in international teams, working abroad) is a plus. Experience in customs/ERP IT systems would be a plus.
