The successful candidate will perform and supervise medical imaging procedures, maintain imaging equipment standards, and collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and effective patient care. Key Responsibilities Diagnostic Imaging: Perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, or other modalities according to qualifications, departmental requirements, and clinical protocols. Patient Care: Verify patient identity, review examination requests, explain procedures, assess patient needs, and ensure comfort and dignity throughout the imaging process. Image Quality: Ensure diagnostic images meet established quality standards, using appropriate positioning, exposure parameters, and imaging techniques. Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate imaging procedures and support timely clinical decision-making. Radiation Protection: Apply radiation safety principles, optimize radiation exposure, and ensure appropriate protective measures for patients, staff, and the public. Protocol Compliance: Follow approved imaging protocols, departmental procedures, and relevant clinical guidelines. Equipment Management: Conduct routine equipment checks, identify technical issues, coordinate maintenance, and ensure imaging systems remain safe and operational. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control activities, image audits, equipment performance assessments, and departmental improvement initiatives. Patient Preparation: Review relevant clinical information, confirm preparation requirements, and identify contraindications or special precautions before examinations. Contrast Administration: Support contrast-enhanced imaging procedures in accordance with professional scope of practice, approved protocols, and applicable authorization requirements. Senior Team Support: Guide junior radiographers, provide technical coaching, and support the orientation and competency development of imaging personnel. Workflow Coordination: Assist with appointment scheduling, examination prioritization, patient flow, and timely completion of imaging requests. Emergency Imaging: Respond appropriately to urgent and emergency imaging requests while maintaining patient safety and image quality. Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, examination details, imaging parameters, safety checks, and other required clinical documentation. Infection Prevention: Follow applicable infection control procedures, equipment cleaning requirements, and safe handling practices. Incident Management: Report equipment faults, patient safety incidents, exposure concerns, and procedural deviations according to established policies. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure imaging activities comply with applicable UAE healthcare regulations, radiation protection requirements, and facility policies. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve examination quality, patient experience, departmental efficiency, and clinical service delivery. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree or diploma in Radiography, Medical Imaging, Radiologic Technology, or a related recognized discipline. At least 5–8 years of relevant clinical radiography experience, including experience in a senior, supervisory, or specialist capacity. Valid professional license or eligibility for registration with the relevant UAE health authority, such as DHA, DOH, or MOHAP, as applicable. Demonstrated experience operating diagnostic imaging equipment and performing examinations relevant to the assigned modality. Strong knowledge of patient positioning, imaging techniques, anatomy, radiation physics, and image quality optimization. Thorough understanding of radiation protection principles and applicable clinical safety procedures. Experience with quality assurance, equipment checks, clinical documentation, and departmental protocols. Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and electronic medical records. Excellent patient communication, interpersonal, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills. Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to urgent situations. Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to training, competency assessments, and service improvement activities. Knowledge of infection prevention, patient confidentiality, and relevant healthcare compliance requirements. Additional modality-specific qualifications or certifications are an advantage. Protocol Compliance: Consistent adherence to approved imaging procedures and clinical guidelines. Equipment Reliability: Completion of routine checks and timely reporting of equipment faults. Documentation Accuracy: Complete and accurate recording of examinations and relevant safety checks. Quality Assurance: Participation in image audits, quality control reviews, and corrective action initiatives. Team Development: Effective mentoring, training support, and competency development for junior staff. Infection Control: Compliance with departmental hygiene and infection prevention standards.
