Construction Manager – Water Projects

Aqualia, a leading company in the water sector, is seeking a Construction Manager to coordinate and supervise mechanical and electromechanical construction works for major water infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements, quality standards, project schedules, budgets, and health and safety requirements. This position will be based in Egypt. This includes an expatriate assignment package, including international mobility condition Key Responsibilities Coordinate and supervise mechanical and electromechanical installation works throughout the construction phase. Coordinate with the Technical Office the development and review of engineering activities related to the mechanical and electromechanical disciplines. Support procurement activities through the preparation and review of technical specifications for mechanical and electromechanical equipment. Supervise equipment installation, piping systems and other mechanical and electromechanical works in accordance with approved engineering documentation. Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders involved in site execution. Monitor construction progress, identify deviations and support the implementation of recovery actions when required. Manage the human, technical and financial resources assigned to the discipline. Monitor quantities, progress measurements, costs and subcontractor payment certifications. Oversee the receipt, inspection and acceptance of mechanical and electromechanical equipment and materials. Ensure compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality requirements and applicable technical specifications. Participate in project site meetings and coordinate interfaces with engineering, construction, commissioning and project controls teams. Ensure compliance with the Project Health and Safety Plan throughout the execution of the works Requirements Required Degree: Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or a related Engineering discipline. Equivalent technical qualifications combined with extensive relevant construction experience may also be considered. Required Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience managing mechanical and/or electromechanical installation works during the construction of major infrastructure projects. Previous experience in water infrastructure projects, such as desalination plants, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations or similar facilities, is highly desirable. Experience in desalination projects will be particularly valued but is not an essential requirement. Essential Specific Knowledge: Proven experience managing mechanical and/or electromechanical installation works on site. Experience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary site teams. Knowledge of construction quality control, inspections, testing and commissioning activities. Experience in major construction projects under EPC or similar contractual environments. Desirable Specific Knowledge: Previous experience in desalination projects. Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project for planning and progress monitoring. Knowledge of equipment and systems commonly used in water infrastructure projects, including pumping, piping, valves and associated electromechanical systems. Experience in cost control, progress measurement and subcontractor management. Languages: Professional working proficiency in English is required.
