Role Description The Head Accountant at Spex Logistics Services is a full-time, on-site role based in Jordan. This role oversees all accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations. The Head Accountant prepares financial statements, manages monthly and annual closing processes, and ensures compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring cash flow, reviewing financial data for accuracy, developing internal controls, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The role also involves collaborating with leadership on financial planning, managing relationships with external auditors, and providing clear financial reports to support strategic decisions. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong accounting and finance skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and budgeting. Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid Excel and data analysis skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of local tax laws, regulatory compliance, and internal control best practices. Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills for reviewing and interpreting financial data. Candidates should possess effective communication and leadership skills to guide accounting staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is an advantage. Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in logistics, transportation, or related industries.
