Procurement Engineer

The Procurement Engineer is responsible for researching, sourcing, and purchasing materials, parts, and equipment required for engineering and manufacturing projects. This role involves evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery, and managing procurement costs to meet project and company standards. Identify and qualify potential suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and service requirements. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to manage performance and foster long-term partnerships. Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action as necessary. Evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure terms align with company standards. Issue purchase orders and ensure adherence to contract terms. Manage cost reduction initiatives to meet budget requirements without compromising quality. Research and source materials, parts, and equipment that meet project specifications and timelines. Ensure alternative sourcing solutions in case of delays or shortages. Coordinate with engineering and production teams to understand technical requirements. Work with quality control teams to ensure purchased materials meet specified standards. Handle claims or rejections with suppliers when materials do not meet quality or performance standards. Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability without overstocking. Coordinate with logistics teams for timely and cost-effective transportation of materials.
