Audit Manager

About This Role The External Audit Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing external audit engagements for a portfolio of clients across various industries. The role ensures audits are conducted in compliance with applicable auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and firm methodologies while delivering high-quality client service. The External Audit Manager leads engagement teams, manages client relationships, identifies risks, and provides technical guidance to ensure timely and accurate audit completion. Key Responsibilities Audit Engagement Management Lead and manage multiple external audit engagements from planning through completion. Develop audit strategies, engagement plans, and resource requirements. Ensure compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), local regulations, and firm policies. Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and supporting documentation. Evaluate internal controls and identify areas of audit risk. Ensure audit findings and recommendations are adequately documented and communicated. Client Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned audit clients. Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with client management and stakeholders. Understand clients' business operations, risks, and industry-specific issues. Present audit results and recommendations to senior management and audit committees. Team Leadership & Development Manage, mentor, and develop audit seniors, associates, and junior team members. Allocate resources effectively to ensure engagement deadlines are met. Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and technical training sessions. Foster a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Risk Management & Compliance Ensure engagements comply with professional standards, ethics, and independence requirements. Identify significant audit issues and escalate complex matters to senior leadership. Monitor changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards. Participate in quality assurance reviews and internal compliance assessments. Business Development Support proposal preparation and client presentations. Identify opportunities for additional services within existing client accounts. Contribute to client retention and business growth initiatives. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification preferred: CPA/ACCA/CA Experience 10+ years of external audit experience, preferably within a Big 4 or reputable audit firm. Minimum 4-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience managing multiple audit engagements and leading teams. Big 4 experience is preferred. Audit experience in telecom sector is preferred. Qatar government experience is preferred. Fluent English communication, Arabic is an advantage. Technical Competencies Strong knowledge of IFRS, ISA, and financial reporting standards. Expertise in risk assessment and internal control evaluation. Proficiency in audit methodologies, documentation, and quality review processes. Advanced knowledge of financial statement analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
