Cost Control Specialist

We’re Hiring: Cost Control Specialist – Agricultural Products & Food Processing Location: Alexandria – Cairo Desert Road Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Food & Beverage / Frozen Fruits / Juices / Export JESCO IMPORT AND EXPORT is looking for a detail-oriented Cost Control Specialist to monitor, analyze, and control costs across the full agricultural value chain—from fruit sourcing and raw-material receiving to processing, packing, freezing, warehousing, export logistics, and finished-product costing. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience in food manufacturing or FMCG, and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and monitor cost-control policies, procedures, and internal controls across operations. - Control and analyze costs related to fruit sourcing, purchasing, receiving, sorting, grading, washing, cutting, freezing, packing, storage, and export. -Review raw-material purchase costs, supplier prices, seasonal fruit costs, quality rejections, and yield variations. - Monitor packing-material consumption and costs, including cartons, bags, liners, labels, pallets, and packaging waste. -Calculate and update the cost of finished products, including raw fruit, additives, packaging, labor, energy, freezing, storage, freight, and overhead allocation. -Maintain and update product costing, bills of materials (BOMs), recipes, yields, and standard cost structures in the ERP system. - Analyze fruit yield, processing losses, shrinkage, spoilage, rework, and quality rejections; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. -Reconcile raw-material usage against production output and standard recipes or BOMs. - Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports covering raw materials, packaging, labor, utilities, logistics, and overheads. - Monitor actual costs against budgets, standards, and forecasts; investigate variances and recommend corrective actions. - Review inventory movements, stock reconciliations, wastage, returns, transfers, and consumption records. - Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits; investigate shortages, surpluses, and stock discrepancies. - Review supplier invoices, purchase orders, freight charges, and service contracts to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness. - Coordinate with procurement, production, warehouse, quality, logistics, finance, and export teams to improve cost efficiency. - Support budgeting, forecasting, product pricing, profitability analysis, and cost-saving initiatives. - Prepare accurate management reports, dashboards, and presentations with clear recommendations. - Ensure compliance with company policies, financial controls, and audit requirements. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in cost control, cost accounting, or financial analysis. Experience in agricultural processing, frozen fruits and vegetables, juices, food manufacturing, FMCG, or export operations is highly preferred. Strong understanding of fruit seasons, raw-material purchasing, yield management, packaging costs, cold-chain storage, and export cost structures. Solid knowledge of cost structures, BOMs, inventory valuation, COGS, variance analysis, and budgeting. Ability to analyze costs from farm or supplier level through processing and packing to the final exported product. Hands-on experience with ERP systems; Odoo, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems is an advantage. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis. Excellent analytical, numerical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Fluent in Arabic; good command of written and spoken English is required. Willingness to work on-site at the Alexandria – Cairo Desert Road location.
