Role Description The KNX Programmer Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Doha, Qatar, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for designing, programming, configuring, and commissioning KNX-based building automation solutions for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. Daily tasks include developing KNX system architectures, creating logic and scenes, integrating KNX devices with lighting, HVAC, shading, and AV systems, and ensuring seamless interoperability with other ELV and automation platforms. The engineer will prepare technical documentation, wiring schematics, and programming files, conduct site visits for testing, troubleshooting, and final handover, and collaborate closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and installers. The role also involves supporting clients with system training, updates, and optimization, while adhering to project timelines, quality standards, and relevant regulations. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science and related engineering disciplines, with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical automation and control solutions. Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) for scripting, logic design, and integration with KNX and third-party systems. Experience or familiarity with Software Development and Back-End Web Development for integration with servers, gateways, and automation platforms. Hands-on experience with KNX configuration tools (e.g., ETS), KNX topology design, device programming, and commissioning of building automation systems. Good understanding of ELV systems, lighting control, HVAC integration, networking basics, and smart home/building automation concepts. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation, with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site and remotely in coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.
