Construction Superintendent

I. Job Summary (describe in 3-4 sentences the mission or purpose of this position): This role oversees on-site construction, supervises contractors, monitors progress and enforces HSEQ & quality standards. It coordinates logistics, collaborates with stakeholders, drives mechanical completion, provides technical guidance and manages site industrial relations to fulfil project and client requirements. II. Principal Responsibilities (identify 7-10 major categories of work): 1.Oversee on-site construction activities for assigned projects/disciplines, ensuring work meets contract, company and client requirements. 2.Supervise contractors, subcontractors and field crews; coordinate schedules and resources to maximize productivity and meet milestones. 3.Manage project execution for installation, commissioning and completion of materials, equipment and systems. 4.Monitor progress against schedule and report status; identify delays and implement corrective actions. 5.Ensure work complies with quality standards and approved engineering specifications; review and approve method statements, construction plans and JSAs. 6.Lead safety, health, environment and quality practices on site: conduct inductions, toolbox talks, inspections, risk assessments and enforce controls. 7.Coordinate logistics: equipment, materials, consumables, accommodation, and site laydown/mobilization. 8.Conduct periodic site inspections, tests and mechanical completion activities; manage punch lists and close-out items. 9.Support constructability reviews and collaborate with engineering to optimize design for construction. 10.Liaise regularly with project team, quality, engineering, installation/marine teams, clients and asset owners to resolve issues and facilitate handover. 11.Provide technical guidance and advice to the PMT on piping, structural, pipeline and platform integrity and constructability. 12.Manage industrial relations issues on site and report as required. III. Education/Experience Requirements/ Certification (list minimum education and/or years of experience required): 1.Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline. 2.Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore engineering retrofit in oil & gas projects. 3.Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills. 4.Proficiency in English and Chinese (written and spoken); 5.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. IV.Behavioral/Technical Skills: 1.Must be able to work independently and under pressure in a multi-cultural project environment. 2.Willingness to travel to construction sites as required. 3.Must comply with all QatarEnergy HSE and quality policies and procedures.
