Senior Software Engineer — Full Stack Full-Time · On-Site · Sheraton El-Matar, Cairo, Egypt Company Description William The Fox is building a B2B SaaS platform to improve business procurement and supply-chain efficiency in the Egyptian market. We are assembling our founding engineering team and looking for engineers who want to take meaningful ownership of the product and the technical decisions behind it. Role Description We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain features across our frontend applications and backend services. You will work directly with stakeholder(s), translate business requirements into technical solutions, contribute to architectural decisions, and help establish engineering practices as the team grows. Responsibilities Deliver complete product features across frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and databases. Build responsive, accessible interfaces using React and Next.js, including forms, validation, data fetching, and clear loading and error states. Design and implement reliable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS. Develop and maintain API contracts and service integrations, with attention to validation, compatibility, and failure handling. Implement secure authentication integrations, authorization rules, and tenant isolation. Design database schemas, migrations, and queries, with attention to transactions, data integrity, and performance. Write meaningful automated tests for business workflows, permissions, and service integrations. Review code, mentor junior engineers, and document technical decisions. Diagnose complex application issues and improve performance and reliability. Participate in planning and estimation, and collaborate on CI/CD improvements, release readiness, and deployment troubleshooting. Qualifications 5+ Years of experience Demonstrated experience delivering and maintaining production applications, with ownership of substantial features or services. Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node.js, with practical experience using Next.js and NestJS. Strong software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, software design principles, and object-oriented programming. Practical experience with microservices, service boundaries, domain-driven design, and event-driven architecture. Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills, including data modeling, indexes, transactions, and database migrations. Experience designing and integrating APIs, with an understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure data access. Experience writing automated tests and investigating issues across frontend, backend, and database layers. Proficiency with Git, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows. Ability to explain technical trade-offs, work independently, and collaborate effectively with developers and business stakeholders. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Availability to work full-time, on-site in Sheraton El-Matar, Cairo. Technology Stack Frontend: TypeScript, React, and Next.js. Backend: Node.js and NestJS. Data: PostgreSQL, Drizzle ORM, and Redis. Service communication: REST APIs and gRPC / Protocol Buffers. Messaging: Kafka. Monorepo tooling: pnpm and Turborepo. Particularly Valuable Experience Multi-tenant B2B SaaS or marketplace development, including roles, permissions, approval processes, and audit trails. Keycloak integration in self-hosted environments, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. Temporal or similar workflow orchestration systems, including long-running processes, retries, timeouts, and state transitions. Subscription management and billing, including plan changes, renewals, payment integrations, and subscription-based feature access. Reliable distributed workflows, including idempotent operations, webhook processing, duplicate-event handling, and recovery from partial failures. Application observability, including structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing. Redis and application caching, including expiration and invalidation strategies. Docker and Kubernetes / K3s familiarity, particularly application deployment and troubleshooting. Experience with every listed technology is not required.
