AI Researcher Abu Dhabi, UAE | Full-time, on-site A well-capitalised quantitative investment firm in Abu Dhabi is building out its AI research function and hiring AI Researchers to work on problems at the intersection of modern machine learning and financial markets. The team is small, highly technical and research-led. You'll have the freedom to pursue original ideas, access to serious compute, and a direct line from research to production, where models inform real investment decisions. What you'll work on Pretraining and post-training large models, including reinforcement learning based approaches Foundation models for financial time series, built and trained from the ground up Multi-agent LLM systems that support and automate investment research Systematic alpha research using modern deep learning methods Taking research from idea to production, working closely with engineering and investment teams What we're looking for A Master's or PhD in a quantitative field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics or physics A strong track record in published research, building models at scale in industry, or strategies running in live production Hands-on experience with modern deep learning, including Transformers, reinforcement learning and sequence modelling Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow Strong programming skills in Python, with C++ a plus Experience at a leading AI research lab, big tech research team, or quantitative trading firm or hedge fund is highly valued Strong research instincts: you can frame an open-ended problem, design rigorous experiments and communicate results clearly Quant research experience is highly desirable, particularly applying deep learning to signal generation or systematic strategies Prior finance experience is welcome but not required Why join Direct impact on firm P&L, with your research driving live investment decisions A collaborative environment where researchers, engineers and investment professionals work side by side Access to advanced technology and large-scale compute Genuine research ownership in a team that is still being shaped Work that goes into production rather than staying on paper Highly competitive, tax-free compensation with a performance-based bonus Full relocation and visa support to Abu Dhabi Interested?
